Simple Concept with Thorough Treatment, March 31, 2010 By George Hillman (Professor Dallas Theological Seminary, TX USA) Earl Wallace's first book on leadership takes a very simple concept of describing leadership and uses it as a springboard to cover most of the current thoughts on leadership and people skills. The premise is this -- a three dimensional leader understands his/her organization's mission, rallies resources to accomplish the mission, and successfully negotiates the context of the big picture. Using real life examples from the business, military, and non-profit world and leadership profiles of everyday leaders, Wallace make the book very accessible and applicable. There is a ton of information in this book and it could be used in a classroom setting very easily as a textbook.

I have read many books on leadership and management and taught management at the college level. There have been few interesting books on leadership of late which has made me wonder, "Is there anything left to be said?"
Earl Wallace's book The Three Dimensional Leader is a seminal work that addresses what it takes to be a good leader in a unique, easy to comprehend way that no other book or management professional has addressed. Learning to be a good leader is exciting again.
Mr Wallace identifies three dimensions into which all leaders fall, with dimension three being the most effective leader. In this book you may recognize people you know (perhaps even yourself!). It will explain why some organizations fail or are not as successful because its leadership is not at a fully developed dimension three. In many cases dimension one and two leaders are pleasant enough people who may think they are good leaders, but the organization will never achieve its full potential unless its leaders also achieve their full potential as dimension three leaders. Mr Wallace provides the tools for anyone interested in success to become a Three Dimensional Leader.
When you read this book do more then think just about people in your organization who could use this book. Read it from a self reflective perspective too. What level leader do you want to be?
A New and Exciting Study of Leadership, October 27, 2010

This book,THE THREE DIMENSIONAL LEADER, is jam packed with strategies, ideas, and proven concepts that can easily be accessed and untilized by any organization interested in improving the skills of their leadership and the cohesiveness of their organization from top to bottom.
Earl's section on OO-B or Out-Of-the-Box thinkers, was particularly eye-opening and instructive. It is easy to dismiss or feel defeated by naysayers within an organization, but the admonition to "Listen and learn from all, but be discouraged by none." opens anyone in a leadership capacity to exciting, new, and empowering possibilities.
I was also fascinated by Earl's profile of Bill Dake, retired chief architect of the Stewart's "empire;" An ever-growing retail business in upstate New York and Western New England. Earl's interview with Dake beautifully illustrated the importance of an organization's willingness to trust it's employees as a prerequisite to the employee buying into change and being willing to risk their emotional involvement in overcoming the challenges that inevitably confront any type of organization.
Any individual interested in upgrading or revising his or her leadership skills or for that matter any business or group wishing to develop a more competent leadership will benefit greatly by seriously considering this fascinating study of a new paradigm for leadership in the 21st Century.
